Hints For Booking Your Stay

Knowing what to expect is vital when choosing a place to stay whether you are taking a short break, or are away on business, or visiting family or friends. Whatever type of accommodation you are looking for, you'll find that B&B My Guest establishments are all registered with local Tourist Boards. There are a wide range of B & B properties all offering different amenties in the same way as hotels do. However there is one difference and that is you're staying in someone's home. This means that you will get a warm and hospitable welcome, but that you must also show consideration for your host, their family and other guests that may be staying.

EXPLANATION OF BATHROOM FACILITIES

Each property is likely to offer a variety of different bathroom types. These are as follows:

  • Ensuite: the bathroom will be adjoining to the bedroom and will be for the sole use of the guests staying in that bedroom.
  • Private: the bathroom may not be directly adjoining to the bedroom but will be for the sole use of the guests staying in that bedroom.
  • Shared: the bathroom will be used by a small number of bedrooms. Usually there will be a wash basin in the bedroom.

BEDROOMS

Each property is also likely to have a variety of bedroom types. These are as follows:

  • Single: bedroom with one single bed in it.
  • Double: bedroom with one double bed in it.
  • Twin: bedroom with two single beds in it.
  • Family: there will be a varying number of beds, but most family rooms can accommodate three people.

BREAKFAST

You will be offered a breakfast which may well consist of the great British breakfast with fruit juice, cereals, eggs and bacon and other tempting items. Some properties may offer a lighter Continental breakfast. Either way it will be a great start to your day!

EVENING MEAL

Some properties may also offer an evening meal and this will be listed under the details of an individual property. You will be expected to arrange this in advance and you should contact the host directly. There will be an additional charge which you should pay directly to your host.

CHECK IN / OUT TIMES

It is always best to arrange your check-in times directly with the host by phoning ahead. This means that your host will be there ready to meet you and you will not be left locked out at the front door! Most hosts are reasonably flexible, but you should aim for the following hours:

Check-In 4.30 p.m. - 8.00 p.m.
Check-Out 8.00 a.m. - 12.00 a.m.
